strapping, taping, splinting & bracing

There are a number of strapping, taping and splinting techniques available to assist in the healing process of anterior and posterior thigh and wrist pains. The aim would be to de-load the injured structure or immobilize the area to support the restoration of function and assist in the healing process.

Counterforce bracing appears to reduce the forces on the extensor tendons, although studies do show conflicting results. The brace should be applied during the rehabilitation process and on return to aggravating activity.
